BALMORAL RED COARSE-GRAINED

Balmoral Red coarse-grained material is produced at four different quarries.

The production of each quarry is classified according to
the quality and colour to the following categories:

TO = medium-grained, dark red type
TLO = slightly paler in the red colour than TO
TT = colour similar to that of TLO, but slightly smaller grained
TL = medium red colour
TS = slightly paler in the red colour than TL

the norms of the Balmoral Red coarse-grained granite.

BALTIC BROWN - FINSKA, Husu quarry

production is selected into four different types in the quarry according to the colour and quality

	ED = extra dark
		* dark Baltic Brown
		* specially suitable for monumental purposes and interior decorations & tiles

	D =	dark
		* dark Baltic Brown
		* use as above as well as for demanding building projects

	M =	medium
		* medium brown colour
		* use specially for large building projects

	L =	light
		* the lightest tonality, quarried generally on the layers near the surface
		* economical material
		* suitable for flamed projects

		ED, D, M and L production totally about 7500m3/year

 

BALTIC BROWN - BG, Parkkola quarry

production is selected and divided into two types:

	D =	dark brown
	M =	medium brown

		* the nature of the material is Baltic Brown but the typical round circles
		  are not as clear as in Husu quarry
		* main use:	building projects
		* production:	2000m3/year
		

 

MONOLA BROWN

The annual production of the Monola Brown quarry is around 2000 m3.

MONOLA BROWN - MATERIALS OF FIRST CLASS QUALITY

RD = Royal Dark
        - deep dark brown granite with small round circles

D  = Dark
        - dark brown

M  = Standard
        - medium brown material especially suitable for building projects

CARMEN RED - VG, Virolahti, Lypsyniemi quarry

2000-series	* intense red, very uniform in colour and structure, very good quality

09VG-series	* slightly more brownish than 2000, very compact in structure, very good quality

			* production: about 3000m3/year

 

CARMEN RED - BG, Virolahti, Pyterlahti quarry

A		* quality equal to the above
  		

EAGLE RED - Kotka quarry

	    * red granite with even sized grains, compact though containing some apatite
			* main use: 	building projects, table tops
			* production: 	about 1500m3/year

KURU GREY

	    * fine grained grey, very hard granite
			* main use:	building projects, monuments in Japan
			* production:	about 700m3/year

PORKKALA RED

	    * coarse grained granite with red tonality, contains white quartz crystals
			* main use:	building projects and interior decorations
			* production:	about 1000m3/year
			* this material is also called Finnish Koral
